Shape RSL 'Missing Share'

Help shape the development of RSL 'Missing Share'.

Progressing repair and improvement works in blocks in shared ownership can be challenging. SFHA members report minority owners sometimes refusing or being unable to pay for their share of communal works.

The Tenements Act 2004 gave local authorities power to pay for the 'missing share' of communal work and recover the cost by putting a security against the property.

The Housing Scotland Act 2014 introduced a power for Scottish Ministers to develop a regulatory power for RSLs to have similar 'missing share' powers.

The Scottish Government has commissioned Anna Evans Housing Consultancy to consult on how a RSL Missing Share power might work.

Researchers are undertaking a survey as well as depth interviews and focus groups.

Don't miss this opportunity to shape the RSL 'Missing Share' regulations.
