Sleep-out host and entrepreneur Josh Littlejohn to give keynote address at SFHA Finance Conference
Mr Littlejohn to discuss aims to end homelessness in Scotland.
Scottish entrepreneur and inspirational fundraiser Josh Littlejohn will give the opening address at this year’s SFHA Finance Conference.
Josh is the proud owner of two businesses that operate under the social business model, including Social Bite, ‘a sandwich shop with a difference,’ which employs a quarter of its workforce from a homeless background, and HOME restaurant, an organisation that offers training and employment opportunities for the homeless and vulnerable.
Josh is also a keen fundraiser and has recently hit the headlines with his latest money raising event – a sleep out in Edinburgh. In just three weeks, he has raised £500,000 which will go towards helping homeless people gain the help they need to create a stable life for themselves.
His latest venture aims to break the cycle caused by homelessness by establishing a community of modular housing for up to 20 homeless people in Edinburgh to offer them permanent housing and employment. His speech will highlight the success of his past and present ventures and projects and aims to inspire others to demonstrate their social value. The conference will then follow with strategic plenary sessions and workshops exploring the key themes in housing finance.
