Supporting Communities Fund Progress Review Report

Blog by Michael McLaughlin, Social Insight Lead.

Posted In

As part of its Covid-19 relief efforts, the Scottish Government created the Supporting Communities Fund which provided funding to community anchor organisations, such as charities, voluntary organisations, housing associations, and social enterprises to help support local responses to the pandemic.

After acknowledging the key role that Scotland's housing associations play as community anchors, the government made SFHA a referring partner for the fund.

As part of our work in tackling poverty and demonstrating impact within our Innovation and Future Thinking programme, we have published a review of how SFHA members provided much-needed help in their communities. You can read this in the digital viewer below or from the downloads section to the right of this page.

Focusing on essential provisions, and keeping tenants and residents connected during lockdown, we have highlighted the social value that housing associations were able to create through the support they provided, and the role that the Supporting Communities Fund and recently announced Communities Recovery Fund has played across Scotland.

Please contact me by emailing mmclaughlin@sfha.co.uk to discuss current funding through the Communities Recovery Fund or to find out more about SFHA’s work on impact.
