TEC Ready - Tablet for the Patient

TEC Ready funded a number of projects as part of its programme of work.
Tighean Innse Gall (TIG) operates in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis.
TIG asked TEC Ready for some funding for a project which centred on sharing information about independent living options through a series of video clips. To help make these as accessible as possible, these are to be hosted on a dedicated ‘You Tube’ Channel and available to primary and secondary care providers as well as family and friends of Island residents.
TIG staff have been given IPads and information about how to access the information.
TIG developed digital materials to provide information and choice for frail and often elderly people on: adaptations to the home; other home improvements including insulation and home safety measures and sources of further advice from health and Social Care providers, to enable them to remain safe and well in their homes. These will be available to patients or vulnerable residents, carers, NHS staff and other agencies, both online and via handheld devices for those without internet access through home visits.
