Tenements Tomorrow Conference - last chance for tickets
Event to be held in The Lighthouse in Glasgow on 18 September 2019.
This will be a stimulating day with contributions from speakers who will bring new perspectives to the debate on the need for new tenement legislation. The conference will be opened by Kevin Stewart MSP, Minister for Local Government, Housing and Planning, and Graeme Simpson MSP will provide an overview of the Tenement Maintenance Working Group recommendations.
A behavioural economist will tell us about how owners can be "nudged" into action; mediators will talk about how to bring owners together to act more co-operatively and a leading law expert will discuss how Human Rights may (or may not) impact compulsory legislation which could reduce individual owners ability to block repairs.
Filmmaker Rob McDougall will document owners' experience of common repairs and Mitch Miller will also present his own interpretation of tenement issues through the medium of a Dialectogram.
