Thinking outside the box at SFHA Annual Conference

Innovative technology demos and more at SFHA Annual Conference

Posted In

At this year’s SFHA Annual Conference, delegates will learn about innovative technology and how it can help house more people as well as why we should be ‘thinking outside the box’ when looking towards the future.

3D printing is changing how we build houses, and delegates will have the chance to see this technique in action first-hand, thanks to Capital Document Solutions.

The technology theme will also be running through the conference as, for the first time, the SFHA is using an interactive online feature. This is free for all conference delegates and, whether you’re using a smartphone, tablet, or laptop, there will be features to make conference sessions more interactive and put you at the heart of the event.

The event will also feature a live demonstration from Colin Hastie, Co-owner, Director and Architect at Bruach Design and Consultancy.

Colin said:

“Building Information Modelling (or BIM for short) is more than just technology – it is a process where construction projects are built ‘digitally’ in a collaborative way before being built ‘physically’ on site. This means fewer issues during construction, and a more robust client approval procedure.

“One of the biggest benefits of BIM is the quality of handover information, which comes from the digital model, meaning it is more comprehensive and accessible than the usual handover manuals provided by contractors.”

Residential rates are from £595, and if you are attending as a day delegate, book three places and bring a colleague for free. For further details, please visit the what's on section of the SFHA website.
