Today is Scottish Housing Day!
SFHA calls on members to get involved in Scottish Housing Day.
SFHA is calling on all members to get involved in today’s Scottish Housing Day.
The purpose of Scottish Housing Day is to raise public awareness of the latest developments in housing and the different options potentially available for people when deciding where to live. The aim is to give the public easier access to the resources they need to make properly informed housing decisions.
By highlighting the good work done in the sector, together we can show how housing work takes places 24 hours a day to benefit our communities. Let us bring focus to the work done by those who care for the elderly in residential schemes, to those who handle late-night emergency repairs as well as those who start as the sun rises to take care of environmental and gardening work. Housing is more than just a roof over your head, and the work never stops.
Sally Thomas, SFHA CEO said “We would like to see all those involved in housing - from landlords, to tenants, suppliers and workers - play a part in sharing their positive stories. It would be great to see some social media activity focussed on telling tenant stories and dispelling myths about social housing.”
Sally is also taking part in a live Twitter Q&A between 11:00 and 11:45 today.
Let’s not miss this chance to showcase the brilliant work that goes on every hour of every day within Scotland’s housing associations and co-operatives. Share you stories on social media using the hashtag #scottishhousingday.
You can also share your stories with us. Contact Shona Mitchell (firstname.lastname@example.org), Policy and Public Affairs Advisor with details of your #scottishhousingday activities.
