Trauma informed practice in action
Public Health Scotland would like to build on its suite of case studies.
On 28 October, Public Health Scotland delivered an informative webinar exploring trauma informed practice in the housing sector for SFHA members. Hosted by SFHA, it saw the launch of three case studies from Linstone Housing Association, South Ayrshire Council and Homes for Good. Previous calls for examples of good practice were met as case study representatives spoke about their trauma informed practice and answered many of the audience's questions.
The webinar not only gave real life examples of how organisations can adopt a trauma informed approach but gave an enhanced understanding of adverse childhood experiences and trauma and highlighted the importance of awareness in the housing sector in preventing childhood adversity and supporting tenants with experience of trauma.
Public Health Scotland would like to build on its suite of case studies and has asked anyone with examples of trauma informed practice in housing, especially, but not exclusively, during the Covid-19 pandemic, to get in touch with SFHA by emailing features@sfha.co.uk These examples of good practice will help other organisations to find ways to integrate trauma informed practice in their daily work.
If you attended the session, we would ask you to take a few minutes to complete the evaluation. This will provide valuable information for future sessions. If you were unable to attend on the day, you can access a recording of the webinar and the case studies in the links provided below.
