Underground sustainable heat to supply homes on former Johnnie Walker site.
New Kilmarnock housing development to use heat from underground to heat homes
A mixed use regeneration scheme in Kilmarnock is to be heated by a district heating scheme using a geothermal heat source.
The scheme – the HALO Kilmarnock – will create a mixed use development on the site of the former Johnnie Walker bottling plant in the town. The development will provide social housing, work units, an Innovation & Enterprise Centre and a leisure facility and is expected to create 1,800 jobs.
