Warmworks Scotland announces recruitment of 100th staff member to support expanding business

Warmworks Scotland has announced that it has taken on its 100th staff member to support the business as it expands to help people across the country stay warmer in their homes, improve their energy efficiency and reduce their fuel bills.

The company’s new procurement manager, Cassandra Mackie, has been brought onboard at a time of considerable growth for the business, as it continues to deliver the Scottish Government’s national fuel poverty scheme, Warmer Homes Scotland, to homes in every local authority area in the country.

This milestone for Warmworks also comes following a period of growth and success for the company.

In 2021 alone, Warmworks has taken on 32 new staff members, and it has also picked up a number of awards for its service delivery. This includes the Best Contract Delivery Award at the national UK GO Awards, and the top prize in the Vulnerability, Health and Wellbeing category at the competitive UK Customer Experience Awards, in recognition of the inclusive service Warmworks offers all of its customers.

Warmworks has also recently launched a new scheme to help homes in the south east of England be warmer and kinder to the environment, and to save on their energy costs, known as the Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery scheme. The company has opened a new office in London to support the delivery of this scheme.

Since 2015, Warmworks Scotland has been the Managing Agent of Warmer Homes Scotland. The company has now expanded to take on a range of new projects the length and breadth of the country, from Orkney to the Scottish Borders, and now to the south east of England, all of which aim to help people stay warmer in their homes, improve their energy efficiency and reduce their fuel bills.

Cassandra Mackie, Warmworks Scotland’s Procurement Manager, said: “The work that Warmworks does is so important and what attracted me to join the company was they were contributing to bettering society.

“Everyone who I have met at Warmworks cares about their job. They are enthusiastic about the work they do and the end result of that work, which is helping customers to live in warm, affordable homes. I am looking forward to becoming a strong member of the team at Warmworks and contributing to the important role the company plays in tackling fuel poverty.”
