Webinar: Understanding the implications of the SHAPS Scheme Benefits Consultation

SFHA has received considerable communication in relation to the consultation and, as a result, has enlisted the expertise of David Davison of Spence & Partners to hold a webinar to provide SFHA members with additional background information and the opportunity to ask questions.

On 16 June, TPT Retirement Solutions issued a document to all participating employers in SHAPS providing background on the likely increases to contributions under the defined benefit options and launched a consultation exercise.

The deadline for submissions is 22 July, which is challenging for most RSL’s due to summer breaks in meetings over this period. For the majority of employers who no longer participate in the SHAPS DC scheme, the changes could be viewed as not relevant to their organisation – however, these revisions could impact all employers.

SFHA has received considerable communication in relation to the consultation and, as a result, has enlisted the expertise of David Davison of Spence & Partners to hold a webinar to provide SFHA members with additional background information and the opportunity to ask questions.

David is well known in the RSL sector and advises many Scottish and UK housing associations. His presentation will cover:

  • A summary of the increasing costs and what they mean?

  • Why costs are going up, and will continue to increase?

  • Why RSLs should respond to the consultation, even if they are not members of the DB scheme ?

The session will take place via MS Teams on Tuesday 12 July from 10:00-11:00.

SFHA members can book a free place here.

We look forward to seeing you at the event.
