Window restrictors survey
Survey to looks at impact design and construction of windows has on fatalities and injuries.
The Window Restrictors Survey has been commissioned by Building Standards Division (BSD) of the Scottish Government. It will consider the impact that the design and construction of windows being installed in dwellings may have on the number of fatalities and injuries sustained following persons falling from the opening lights of windows. It will attempt to establish the extent that safety restrictors are now being fitted to opening lights in both new build homes and in window replacement projects. Note that the research is not looking at openings lights where there is no inherent risk, e.g. those on a ground level.
