Your Questions Answered: Where can I find more information on Rapid Rehousing?

SFHA Policy Lead Zhan McIntyre answers a member’s query on Rapid Rehousing.

Posted In

Every week, SFHA’s Policy Leads and Advisors answer questions from our members on issues affecting housing associations and co-operatives.

‘Your Questions Answered’ is a new, regular feature of our Housing Scotland Today e-newsletter which shares the answers to some of these questions, so that all of our members can benefit from the expertise of SFHA’s Public Affairs team.

This week’s question on Rapid Rehousing is answered by SFHA Policy Lead Zhan McIntyre.

You asked: Where can I find more information on Rapid Rehousing?

Zhan’s answer:

Rapid Rehousing is a policy direction set out by the Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Action Group (HARSAG) and adopted by the Scottish Government in relation to tackling homelessness in Scotland.

Rapid Rehousing by default has been described as the ‘cornerstone’ of the HARSAG recommendations.

There are a few ways SFHA members can find out more information on Rapid Rehousing.

Read the latest briefing

SFHA has written a Rapid Rehousing briefing to keep members informed of this policy direction. This is available to download from the SFHA website.

Attend From Homeless to Housed 2018

SFHA’s From Homeless to Housed 2018 is a learning and networking event which brings together a range of experts in homelessness policy and lived experience to explore the latest developments in understanding and tackling homelessness.

The event offers a specialist session on Rapid Rehousing Transition Plans, during which delegates will about the progress that has been made and the role housing associations will play in adopting Rapid Rehousing as a default approach.
