Aico donates alarms to Bristol homeless charity

Aico donates CO alarms to Help Bristol's Homeless for use in its 'micro flats'.

Aico, the UK’s market leader in domestic mains powered Fire and Carbon Monoxide (CO) detection, is pleased to be supporting Help Bristol’s Homeless with the donation of Smoke, Heat and CO Alarms for use in its 'micro flats'.

Help Bristol’s Homeless is a non-profit social enterprise with the mission to provide a range of help and support for those less fortunate in the face of Bristol’s growing homeless problem. A key aspect of this enterprise has been the temporary accommodation constructed and provided by the charity.

Help Bristol’s Homeless renovates old shipping containers into 'micro flats' giving users up to four months to 'get their feet off the ground' with the added support of the charity.

The work of the charity was brought to light by Aico Regional Specification Manager, Steve Bulley, who recommended it as a suitable charitable project. As part of Aico’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the company actively seeks to support projects nationwide and overseas.

Steve states:

“This is a fantastic, unique project and something which really will benefit from our alarm systems.”

Aico contacted Help Bristol's Homeless founder Jasper Thomas with the offer to provide Smoke, Heat and CO Alarms. On Monday 1st October, Steve Bulley met with Jasper to deliver the alarms.

Jasper commented:

“Donations like this make this project as successful as it has been. These alarms will provide the added life safety that is at the forefront of our project.”

Looking to the future, Aico has committed to provide a group of employees to volunteer their time to give continued support for Help Bristol’s Homeless.

Aico, an Ei company, is the market leader in residential fire and CO protection in the UK.  All alarms are designed and built in Ireland specifically to meet the UK standards and regulations.  For more information please go to www.aico.co.uk or contact Aico at 01691 664100 or enquiries@aico.co.uk.
