Housing Scotland 2018 meet the speaker: Juha Kaakinen
Juha Kaakinen is CEO of Y-Foundation in Finland.
The SFHA is delighted to announce Juha Kaakinen as one of the speakers at its Annual Conference.
Juha Kaakinen is Chief Executive Officer of Y-Foundation, the biggest Finnish NGO, which acquirers flats from the private market for homeless people and provides social housing.
From 2008 to 2012, he worked for the Finnish Ministry of the Environment as Programme Leader of the National Programme to reduce long-term homelessness from. He is a member of the Administrative Council of FEANTSA.
He has written over 50 research papers, articles and evaluation reports on social services, employment projects and policies and homelessness issues.
At the conference, Juha will talk about the work of the Y-Foundation and how housing associations can make Housing First work for them. Margaret-Ann Brunjes, Director of the Glasgow Homelessness Network, and Chris Hancock, Head of Housing, Crisis, joins Juha in this session to discuss the part housing associations should play in tackling homelessness in Scotland and what makes Housing First a model that could work for vulnerable groups.
This year’s SFHA Annual Conference, entitled Housing Scotland, takes place on 12 and 13 June at the Radisson Blu Hotel in central Glasgow. Residential places start from £595 for SFHA members and £925 for non-members, or you can attend as a day delegate for as little as £270.
