SFHA emphasises power of collective strength as it welcomes 15 new members

The Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA) has emphasised the power of its collective strength, together with its members, to positively influence change for tenants across Scotland. This was the message delivered by SFHA Chief Executive Sally Thomas at the federation’s Chairs’ Conference last week.

The SFHA has recently welcomed 15 new members and said this will strengthen its voice, as the national body for Scotland’s housing associations and co-operatives, when working to influence and advocate in the best interests of its members and their tenants.

Sally Thomas, SFHA Chief Executive, said:

“The housing sector has a strong sense of owning a shared mission, as social purpose organisations that care deeply about providing good quality affordable housing for the people of Scotland.”

“Our sector has a hugely impressive and transformative track record, which, together, we can continue to build on. The SFHA is the leading voice for Scottish housing associations and co-operatives, supporting our members across a range of challenges such as welfare reform, tackling fuel poverty and meeting the Scottish Government’s 50,000 affordable homes target. No organisation can address these challenges on their own.

“We will continue to use the power of our collective strength to influence and advocate in the best interests of our members and the people they house.”
