The Charter was introduced as part of the Housing (Scotland) Act 2010 and was developed to set out the standards and outcomes that all social landlords should aim to achieve when performing their housing activities.
The first Charter came into effect on 1 April 2012 and was revised during 2016. The revised Charter was approved by the Scottish Parliament on 8 February 2017 and has effect from 1 April 2017.
