Adaptations Update November 2018
Adaptations can help people with mobility issues and physical disabilities live safely in their own homes. Many SFHA members have highlighted that funding for adaptations has fallen short in recent years, meaning tenants have had to wait for adaptations that will help them live their lives safely and independently.
This article provides a short summary of recent activity relating to adaptations and encourages SFHA members to complete a short survey about their funding situations.
The Local Government and Communities Committee, as part of its role of pre-budget scrutiny, has been looking at the funding of adaptations, in particular the wider consideration of the suitability of our housing for the disabled, veterans and an ageing population, and how that should be reflected in the Scottish budget.
