Could you be the Next Chair of the 'New Scots' Group?

There is now an exciting opportunity to be directly involved in supporting refugees, asylum seekers and communities across Scotland, as 'New Scots' is seeking a new Core Group Chair.

The New Scots refugee integration strategy is a partnership led approach to supporting refugees, asylum seekers and communities across Scotland.

SFHA represent members at the New Scots Housing Sub Group.

The second New Scots strategy was launched in January 2018.

There is now an exciting opportunity to be directly involved in supporting this pioneering approach as New Scots is seeking a new Core Group Chair.

The Chair will be independent, but will be supported in their role by the strategy’s key partners: the Scottish Government, COSLA and the Scottish Refugee Council; including secretariat support based within the Scottish Government.

This is a voluntary, non-remunerated position and is not a public appointment.

Commenting on the opportunity, Zhan McIntyre at SFHA said,

"The work of the New Scots group has been truly innovative and has led to major improvements to asylum seekers, refugees and host communities across Scotland.
