Programme announced for SFHA Housing Management Conference
24 and 25 September, The Studio, Glasgow.
The theme of this year’s conference is ‘putting the social in social housing’, and, together, we will explore ways to care for your tenants, your organisation and yourself.
Dr Paul Hickman from Sheffield Hallam University will open the conference and discuss the impact of welfare reform on housing associations.
Delegates will also hear from Marion Gibbs of the Scottish Government on rapid rehousing and tackling homelessness. Joining her during the session will be colleagues from various housing hubs from across Scotland who will discuss their approaches to rapid rehousing.
To finish the conference, TC Young will take you through the ‘housing management day from hell’. The session will deal with all your worst fears…and hopefully alleviate them. Set in a fictitious RSL office, TC Young will introduce a procession of abominable queries from tenants.
The conference will also feature a range of workshops relevant to housing management professionals and explore topics such as complaints, communicating Universal Credit to millennials, vicarious trauma, home safety visits, and developing a good practice response to domestic abuse.

The conference takes place on 24 and 25 September at The Studio in Glasgow city centre. Day delegate rates start at £229 for SFHA members (£319 for non-members) which includes attendance, lunch and all refreshments.
