Funding for affordable housing for rent
The Scottish Budget for 2016/17 brought a welcome boost to housing associations and co-operatives, with the Affordable Housing Supply Programme (AHSP)boosted by 90 million to £690 million.
This announcement follows the publication of research by the SFHA, CiH and Shelter that found that 12,000 affordable rented homes will need to be provided per year for each of the next 5 years in order to solve Scotland’s housing crisis and meet outstanding need.
