Two days to go until the first ever Housing Scotland Apprentice Event

Still time to book your place at this free event.

There are only two days left to go until the first ever Housing Scotland Apprentice Event. This free one-day conference for employers will highlight the importance of apprenticeships to the future of the housing sector and the benefits they can bring to your organisation.

The event will be opened by Minister for Employability and Training Jamie Hepburn MSP and feature expert speakers who will detail every stage of recruiting and managing apprentices and answer your questions. Sessions will explore:

  • The funding and recruitment process for apprentices

  • Why you should take on an apprentice

  • What it’s like to be a Modern Apprentice

  • Developing the young workforce with Investors in Young People, Youth Scotland and CIH

The event also sees the return of the SFHA’s Apprentice Challenge, a competition for young people from SFHA member housing associations and co-operatives from across Scotland. The challenge will run throughout the conference, with entrants creating a presentation which answers questions based on real issues in the housing sector.

The event takes places at the City of Glasgow College’s Riverside Campus on Thursday 12 April. Registration begins at 9.30am, and the conference concludes with the SFHA Apprentice Challenge.

The SFHA would like to say a huge thank-you to its conference partners CMS Windows, Repair Care, CGC and t-shirt sponsors The Furnishing Service for helping make the event possible.

For more information, or if you would like to attend this free event, visit www.sfha.co.uk/whats-on or contact events@sfha.co.uk – there is still time to book your place.
