Happy to Translate wins UK’s Most Innovative Initiative of the Year

Trust Housing Association’s Happy to Translate has been awarded the UK’s Most Innovative EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) Initiative of the Year 2017.

The National Centre for Diversity held its prestigious Annual Grand Awards at the Queens Hotel, Leeds on 16 March. It was hailed as a “night of celebration, of the sheer hard work of people that work in the country’s best companies in relation to Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, and Engagement (FREDIE)”.

Happy to Translate was recognised for its work in developing a mobile app which facilitates communication between organisations and their service users who face a language barrier.

Rhona McLeod, Chief Executive of Trust Housing Association, said:

“Happy to Translate acknowledges the importance of offering tools to its member organisations that are current and reflect the changing needs of its customers. Now that many organisations are moving towards the use of mobile devices for their staff, Happy to Translate has stepped up and met those needs.”
