SFHA members have access to a range of resources to help them meet the requirements of Freedom of Information and data protection legislation. These have been developed in conjunction with legal specialists and relevant regulatory bodies, and include: template documentation; written guidance; sources to ring for further advice; and a forum to discuss current issues with peers.
SFHA members have access to a range of resources to help them maintain the highest standards of governance. Our Get Governance suite of guidance has been developed in conjunction with industry specialists and informed by our membership. Relevant regulatory bodies were also consulted as appropriate to ensure that the materials help organisations meet regulatory and legislative requirements. The resources provided include: template documentation; practical tools; and written guidance.
Many thanks to all who attended the SFHA's Governing Body Members (GBM) Forum launch on 16 April. At the event, our hosts Thenue HA gave an overview of their governance and the excellent work they are doing in their local community, with CEO Gary Naylor and Centre Manager Rosie Robertson giving really informative presentations to the group. For the majority of the event, Dorothy Bulmer took delegates through some facilitated networking exercises, identifying the key successes and challenges delegates wished to highlight. A note of this group exercise is now available to all members of the forum.
Following on from recent revisions to the Self-Assurance Toolkit, a minor update to the SFHA's suggested clauses for inclusion in the Annual Assurance Statement is now available. SFHA commissioned Linda Ewart to draft the update, which was considered by a small working group of SFHA members.
An update to the SFHA Self Assurance Toolkit is now available. SFHA commissioned consultant, Linda Ewart - who originally developed the toolkit on our behalf - to refresh the document. The toolkit has been developed in partnership with the SHR, ALACHO and GWSF and looks at the questions governing bodies should be asking to assure themselves of regulatory compliance.
An action note from the previous Governance Forum meeting on 21 March 2024 is now available. At the meeting, Gillian Maton from Kingdom HA gave a presentation about their equality data collection journey. The slides from this presntation are also now available to members of the forum.
