The latest piece of guidance in the SFHA's Get Governance series is now available to SFHA members. The guidance - which has been drafted by Linda Ewart on behalf of SFHA - looks at standing orders, and provides some points to consider when organisations are drafting or reviewing their own.
SFHA guidance looking at digital governance is now available to all SFHA members. This is the next piece in SFHA's Get Governance series and we commissioned Linda Ewart to develop the document on our behalf. Please note that this guidance does not look at the technological side of digital governance, but instead focuses on ensuring governance remains effective even when meetings etc are not in the same room. This piece of work brings together and updates a lot of the guidance SFHA produced during Covid in this area.
UK Government is currently considering the Data Protection and Digital Information (No 2) Bill. SFHA has submitted a brief response. SFHA commissioned TC Young to produce a briefing on the contents of the Bill for SFHA members, to highlight those areas most relevant to RSLs.
Uk Government is currently seeking views on the Data Protection and Digital Information (No 2) Bill. The Bill is currently at Committee stage, so there may be changes to what is proposed by the Bill depending on its progress through Parliament. The expected deadline for comment is 13 June and SFHA will be submitting a brief response. SFHA members have access to a range of resources to help them maintain the highest standards of governance. Our Get Governance suite of guidance has been developed in conjunction with industry specialists and informed by our membership. Relevant regulatory bodies were also consulted as appropriate to ensure that the materials help organisations meet regulatory and legislative requirements. The resources provided include: template documentation; practical tools; and written guidance.
The revised Social Housing Charter has now been published following approval from Scottish Parliament.
