The Fuel Poverty Bill has now passed through Stage Two and will now go before the Scottish Parliament for final amendment and approval through a Stage Three debate before the summer recess.
The parliamentary working group on tenements is to publish its final report in May. The Interim Report recommended that all mixed tenure tenements should have 5 yearly inspection reports on common parts, mandatory owners associations and a requirement for all owners to pay into a sinking fund for repairs and maintenance.
The Scottish Government has set new standards for fire and smoke alarms in existing homes to be met by February 2021. SFHA understands interest free loan funding will be available to housing associations to support the work and await confirmation of this.

SFHA is continuing its campaign with Smart Energy GB to promote the rollout of smart meters across Scotland. As part of this campaign, we want to encourage our members to support their low income tenants through face-to-face conversations about the benefits of smart meters.
