SFHA recently surveyed members regarding progress relating to the implementation of the SFHA/GWSF Model Publication Framework, and also asked for views on the potential extension of FOI to RSL subsidiaries.
The SFHA has submitted its response to the Scottish Government Consultation regarding the potential extension of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 to RSLs in Scotland. The full SFHA response, and some background to this are available to all members below by signing in.
SFHA submits response to FOI Extension Consultation
The Scottish Government has published a breakdown of the consultation responses to proposed extension of FOI legislation to Scottish RSLs. SFHA has also produced an anlysis of the number of respondents and their organisaiton/interest in the consultation.
SFHA, in partnership with GWSF, commissioned Linda Ewart to carry out some research looking at the potential impact and implications should FOI be extended to our sector - as is currently proposed by Scottish Government. A report outlining the findings of this research is now available to all members.

In February 2019, the Scottish Government laid a draft order to Scottish Parliament – extending the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2019 to some of the functions of RSLs and their subsidiaries. The order will take effect on 11 November 2019. An SFHA briefing on the content of the order is now available to all SFHA members.
