The first meeting of the SFHA Governance Forum will take place on Tuesday 13 September 2022 at 11am. This will be a virtual meeting and of particular interest to those staff responsible for governance within their organisation or with a governance focussed role. This is a great chance to chat with peers and to learn form their experiences and share good practice.
Minor update to National Guidance on Collecting Equality Data and FAQs now available, reflecting further discussions between SHR and EHRC.
Frequently asked questions have been gathered, with these divided into two main categories: clarifying the data collection requirement and flexibility on what data is collected.
Collecting Equality Information: National Guidance for Scottish Social Landlords was developed by Dr Stewart Montgomery on behalf of the SHR, SFHA, GWSF and ALACHO.

The Scottish Government has published an independent analysis of the responses submitted to its consultation on the Scottish Social Housing Charter.
In June 2021 the SPSO asked for comments on draft Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to accompany its Model Complaints Handling Procedures. Following feedback received from SFHA and its members, the SPSO has decided to reconsider the KPIs with a view to streamlining these for introduction in 2022/23.

On 30 March 2021, the provisions in the Corporate Insolvency and Governance Act 2020 allowing for virtual general meetings to take place expired. Earlier in the month, SFHA had written to UK Government asking for a further extension to this legislation, but SFHA received a response on 30 March confirming that the UK Government has no current plans to extend the legislation at this time.

SFHA Model Role Descriptions for Governing body Members and Office Bearers are now available to all SFHA members. This collection contains four stand-alone documents that can be adapted by Scottish housing associations and co-operatives. This guidance, originally published in 2018, has been updated with input from a group of SFHA members. The revisions were drafted by Linda Ewart on behalf of SFHA.
