SFHA would like you to join our team, 9,000 others and some of the world’s biggest artists to sleep in the cold for one night in Edinburgh's Princes Street Gardens, on the 9th of December at Social Bite's Sleep In The Park. The mission of the event is to create a movement to eradicate homelessness in Scotland within the next five years. Social Bite needs your support to make that happen.
Social Bite has invited some amazing musicians to “busk” stripped back acoustic sets including Liam Gallagher, Deacon Blue, Frightened Rabbit and Amy Macdonald. Rob Brydon will host the event, Sir Bob Geldof will be sleeping out, and John Cleese has agreed to come and read a bedtime story! There will also be a special corporate networking and sleeping area for businesses and entrepreneurs to make the most of the event, as well as a corporate lunch designed by Michelin Star chef Martin Wishart on the afternoon of the event.
There are no tickets available for the event, you simply make a small fundraising commitment to sign up. By raising funds and working together, we can stop the sticky plaster mentality and get to the root issues with a plan to eradicate homelessness over a 5-year period by providing people with housing, rehabilitation, job opportunities and the support they need to get back on their feet.
Social Bite and SFHA are inviting all of Scotland’s housing associations and their commercial partners to be integrally involved in this movement through fundraising and participating in Sleep In The Park. Please sign up at www.sleepinthepark.co.uk/taking-part.
We'd really appreciate your support of Social Bite and their mission to end homelessness in Scotland. Please join us and help us spread the word as far and wide as possible.
