Energy Efficiency Standard for Social Housing

The Energy Efficiency Standard for Social Housing (EESSH) is a mandatory standard for Social Landlords to meet by 2020.

The Energy Efficiency Standard for Social Housing (EESSH) is a mandatory standard for Social Landlords to meet by 2020. EESSH builds on the energy targets and guidance in the Scottish Housing Quality Standard (SHQS). The Standard aims to improve the energy efficiency of social housing and reduce energy consumption, fuel poverty and the emission of greenhouse gases. Meeting this standard will help to achieve the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009 target of reducing carbon emissions by 42 per cent by 2020 and 80 per cent by 2050.
