About the training
This unique Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Virtual Programme, has been specifically designed to help delegates understand RSLs’ responsibilities and the benefits of promoting equality, tackling all forms of discrimination and fostering good relationships between diverse groups of people outside and inside the workplace. The programme covers the historical context, equality vs equity, the legal and regulatory positions, the 9 protected characteristics with case studies/caselaw, equalities monitoring, equalities impact assessments and the positive EDI actions that can improve service delivery to tenants/service users and, how external stakeholders, staff and board members are treated.
This virtual training includes a series of modules plus practical resources for delegates to cascade back to their RSL
Benefits of attending
The outcomes from the training will be as follows:
- Increased knowledge of current EDI issues
- Improved awareness of practical innovative solutions to promote equal opportunities
- Confidence boosted to help cascade good practice back to your RSL
- Enhanced EDI peer network
- Access to a practical EDI toolkit including a template strategy, up to date list of resources and inclusive language definitions/appropriate language.
Who should attend?
The training is aimed at those who have an interest in EDI or are currently recognised as an EDI ambassador for driving forward EDI within an RSL. The programme is for all levels including a front facing/first point of contact member of staff, a manager, a senior leader, a Board member, a Tenant Scrutiny Panel Member and be full or part time. Attendees will benefit if they have a little knowledge of equalities, diversity and inclusion but there will be a refresher on key areas and therefore, also acceptable for those with no knowledge.
The RSL may decide that it may be hugely beneficial to register more than 1 individual from their organisation potentially, from different parts of the service delivery. This has the advantages of them contributing from their respective area of expertise, sharing their good practice and, buddying up to cascade information back to your workplace
The delivery will be via Zoom and will take place on the following dates:
Wednesday 5 May 9.30am-12.30pm
Thursday 6 May 1.30pm-4.30pm
Wednesday 2 June 9.30am-12.30pm
Thursday 3 June 1.30pm-4.30pm
You will be expected to attend all 4 sessions.
Please note training 1 and 2 are both fully booked.
