About the webinar

With a UK general election on the horizon, lots of issues relevant to housing associations and tenants will be high on the agenda. It’s vital we do all we can to support and encourage social tenants to register to vote as one of the demographics who are least likely to do so. Ahead of the election, SFHA will be using our collective voice to advocate for our members, but for organisations who wish to do any campaigning work of their own, there are important electoral rules to consider.

Join SFHA and The Electoral Commission to discuss all of the above. The Commission is the independent body which oversees elections, regulates political finance in the UK, and works to promote public confidence in the democratic process. They will share resources and information which members can use to support tenants and staff to participate in the election, as well as key guidance for organisations engaging in the election and tips for staying within the rules.

Who should attend:

This webinar is aimed at housing association staff and board members involved in governance (for electoral rules). It is also aimed at staff working in housing management and community investment (for voter registration and turnout). Anyone working in communications will also benefit from attending.

Benefit of attending:

  • Ensure your organisation stays on the right side of electoral law ahead of a UK General Election.

  • Learn how to support tenants and staff in being able to vote in a UK General Election.
