Thank you to those who attended the Housing Innovation Factory event. The event saw over 100 attendees interact and hear about the work of 10 innovation teams who have been developing new ideas and approaches. Delegates also helped develop these ideas further, took part in interactive workshops, games, competitions and new opportunitites.

An Honours Graduate in Town & Country Planning, Calum has worked in housing and construction for over 30 years joining CCG in 2001. More recently, Calum was also appointed as a Board Member for the Structural Timber Association on behalf of CCG.

She has worked for several housing associations in London and the North East of England, most recently as Head of Community Investment at North Star Housing Group. Previously, she worked for the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), on regeneration at an urban development corporation, as director of a consultancy specialising in community-based development and leading on social purpose and wider role at the Housing Associations Charitable Trust (HACT).
She has co-authored several publications for the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, the Chartered Institute of Housing, HACT, think tanks and government departments. The most recent is ‘Acting on Localism: the role of housing associations in driving a community agenda’, published by Respublica.
She has chaired and served on a variety of boards in the housing, arts, health and charitable sectors, and is currently Vice-Chair of the Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA).

Throughout his career Dan has also enjoyed work with the Glasgow and West of Scotland Forum, Tenant Information Services and sat on the Chartered Institute of Housing (Scotland) Board as the Glasgow Regional Representative from 2010 – 12. Dan would consider himself a product of effective succession planning and is very keen to offer perspectives on how we best identify and nurture our housing talent and future leaders.

As an Ecologist and a Charted Town Planner since 2006, Ivan has held a number of roles within SNH and on secondment with local authorities. For many years he led SNH’s contribution to local development plans and in 2016, on secondment, was responsible for the preparation and publication of the South-east Scotland Proposed Strategic Development Plan. He is currently responsible for co-ordinating SNH’s contribution to place-based approaches such as development frameworks and large-scale urban renewal projects. As part of that , he is keen to reach out to new partners to help demonstrate the health and well-being benefits of connecting people and nature and the contribution that nature-based solutions can make to successful places.
