About the webinar
Building on a Place Standard masterclass hosted by SFHA in March 2020, this 90 minute webinar will enable housing associations to share experiences of using the Place Standard Tool. It will feature a practice example from Linstone Housing Association, and will provide a space for discussion about the opportunities, facilitators and barriers that exist for housing associations to use the method as a means for engagement and neighbourhood improvement.
“A Scotland where we live in vibrant, healthy and safe places and communities” has been affirmed as one of Scotland’s public health priorities. Scottish Government and COSLA have developed the Place Principle and development of the 20 minute neighbourhood featured in the Programme for Government as a priority. The Place Standard Implementation Plan includes an action to engage with social and affordable housing providers.
The Place Standard Tool is one approach to enable anchor organisations engage tenants in the development of inclusive places including 20 minute neighbourhoods. The Place Standard Tool may also be valuable for housing associations as an engagement tool for their continuous improvement of housing and housing services.
