Thank you to all who attended this first of three events the SFHA are running to look at The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in depth. The Glasgow event is now sold out but places are still available at the event taking place in Aberdeen on 17 November 2017.
10.00 – 12.30 Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
The Information Commissioner’s Office is responsible for ensuring compliance with the GDPR. It has produced a wealth of helpful guidance, including a 12 step guide to preparing for GDPR. The morning session will be facilitated by staff from the ICO, who will provide a comprehensive overview of the new requirements and the action that needs to be taken to ensure compliance.
12.30 – 13.30 Lunch
13.30 – 16.00 Legal Perspective
After lunch, the second session will look more specifically at how the GDPR will impact on housing associations and co-operatives. It will be facilitated by a law firm with expertise not only in Data Protection, but also of working with our sector. This will enable delegates to gain an understanding of what the GDPR will mean in practice for RSLs.
