About the research

SFHA has partnered with JRF, Public Health Scotland, and RIHAF to commission research, led by CaCHE and HACT on the economic, social and health and well-being impacts of social housing.

Following the publication of the interim findings in June 2020, which reviewed the existing evidence on affordable and social housing, we are pleased to announce that the second stage of the research is now completed.

The final report examines the activities of particular housing associations and demonstrates how the social and economic value of their work can be measured and aligned with Scotland’s National Performance Framework.

The research team (CaCHE and HACT) will explain the main findings of the report and discuss the value of impact measurement when reporting to key stakeholders.

There will also then be a panel discussion with both the researchers and the  project funders (SFHA, JRF, Public Health Scotland and RIHAF) who answer questions from the audience and discuss the importance of this work, particularly in the context of Scotland’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Read the executive summary below or click here to read the full report released 9 September 2020.
