About the Training

All organisations who process personal data are required to comply with the terms of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) which came into force in May 2018.   This places specific requirements on housing associations in Scotland, who need to process data to meet the needs of their tenants and service users.  It is crucial that all staff fully understand the requirements, and this half day training session is ideal for new staff who are maybe not familiar with GDPR, or for current staff looking for a bit of a refresher.

Eileen Barr from TC Young will be delivering the training on SFHA’s behalf.  She is a highly experienced solicitor who specialises in data protection and FOI, and was heavily involved in the development of SFHA’s template GDPR template documentation, guidance notes and FAQs for members.  Eileen will highlight real examples from within the sector and beyond during the session.
