Job description
Ore Valley Housing Association was established in Cardenden in Fife in 1992. It now operates across central Fife providing 815 homes and employs 21 staff members. Our historical heart lies in former mining communities that have seen considerable challenges since the closure of the coal industry.

We are seeking to recruit volunteers to join our Board which meets invariably one evening per month on Tuesdays.

The vision, mission and values which guide the development and delivery of everything we do are based on respect, fairness and equality and we would welcome applications from anyone with an interest in supporting our work. Details of these are outlined below:

We are looking for new Board members to help us navigate the challenges ahead including addressing regional and national housing emergencies, homelessness and net zero. We will consider applications from anyone with an interest in our work and in joining our Board and although not essential we are interested in meeting a broad spectrum of people and in particular anyone with experience in the following areas:
● Human Resource.
● Equality and Diversity Issues.
● Housing – including operation, maintenance or construction.
● Finance.
● Law.
● Regulatory frameworks.
● Community engagement.
● Net Zero and sustainability.
● Health and Social Care.

Of greatest importance is that you share our values and a commitment to supporting us to deliver our strategic objectives.

You will join an existing Board of committed and welcoming individuals; you will have access to training and development opportunities and have the opportunity to work with fellow Board Members and staff to make a real difference within the communities with whom we work.

As a volunteer we can cover any out-of-pocket expenses you incur.
