We are undertaking a recruitment exercise seeking additional voluntary members to join Melville Housing Association.

Melville Housing is a charitable organisation that supports local communities with high quality affordable homes and services. We are committed to meeting local housing needs and own and manage more than 2,000 homes across Midlothian, South Lanarkshire, North Lanarkshire, East Lothian, and Edinburgh.

Our mission statement is:

Melville is led by an experienced Board that has overall responsibility for its governance and strategic direction. As a Board member you will work closely with the senior management team on the planning, monitoring and control of high quality, efficient services to our tenants and service users.

If you have a background, skills, or experience in any of the following areas, we would love to hear from you:
Resident or Working in any of our Communities listed above or;
Housing, Housing Maintenance or;
Legal background

You will need to commit to attending up to eight Board meetings a year held in Dalkeith, Midlothian. (Hybrid meeting arrangements are available). These meetings are usually held in the early evening and normally last a maximum of two hours. In addition, you will be expected to take part in skills development and training provided by the Association to support you in your role as a Board member.

As a voluntary Board Member, you will have the opportunity to:
• Set the strategic direction of an innovative, ambitious organisation
• Use your experience, skills, and knowledge to benefit others
• Develop your own knowledge, experience, and personal skills
• Network with others with shared commitment and ideals
