Who are we?
Bridgewater Housing Association is a Registered Social Landlord and Scottish Charity based in the Erskine in Renfrewshire. The Association manages around 850 social rented properties, together with 500 lock up garages and provides a factoring service to nearly 2,700 owner occupiers.

We also provide a range of accommodation and services to a wide customer base, and management of the Care & Repair services across Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire and Inverclyde.

What is your role?
If you are interested in delivering good quality housing services and supporting the local community, we are keen to hear from you.

Board Members are responsible for making decisions in relation to the leadership and strategic direction of the organisation. We welcome a wide range of skills and diverse backgrounds including community involvement, human resources, finance, construction, information technology, equalities, etc. Critically we are looking for those who have a willingness to learn and develop the role while acting in the best interests of the Association, our customers and service users. Previous Board experience is not required.

What can we offer?
This is a voluntary, unpaid position but Board Members can claim travel and other expenses for attending meetings and events. We also offer a training programme and encourage our Board Members to develop their knowledge and skills by attending various national and community events.

Your commitment
You will be required to attend around 12 Board and Sub-Committee meetings per year. Meetings are held early evenings, normally Wednesdays, from 5.30-7.30pm and can be attended in person at our office or via Zoom. In addition you will be expected to take part in an annual skills assessment and attend ad hoc training sessions to develop your role and a Board member.
