We are currently looking for a Clerk of Works to join our Asset Team.
The successful candidate will have a qualification in construction, civil engineering or a related field. This should be at HNC level, SCQF Level 7 or above. They will also be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of:
- Delivering Clerk of Works services at all stages of a variety of new build, capital and cyclical projects
- Ensuring compliance of works with relevant specifications and legislation
- Monitoring quality control and workmanship
- Carrying out regular inspections of work in progress to ensure that:
> The contractor executes works in accordance with the agreed contract
> Methods of construction are satisfactory
> Appropriate tenant liaison is in place
> Progress is monitored and reported appropriately
> Liaising with contractors and maintaining contract documentation, including instruction and advice note issues
Experience in housing repair or maintenance is key, alongside a solid grasp of current regulations. These include Scottish Building Technical Standards, NHBC, SHQS, and EESSH requirements.
An awareness of the challenges housing associations are currently facing would be helpful, but is not necessary.

A valid, in-date driving licence and access to a car insured for business will also be required.
