Job description
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Governance Officer to join the River Clyde Homes Group and play a key role in supporting effective governance across the organisation. This is a pivotal role ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance, supporting Board and Committee functions, and driving continuous improvement in governance practices.

Key responsibilities include:

Support the Head of Corporate Services to deliver all governance functions effectively.
Ensure compliance with statutory obligations and regulatory requirements, including submissions to the Scottish Housing Regulator.
Facilitate Board and Committee meetings, including preparing reports, distributing papers, and taking accurate minutes.
Maintain governance documentation and oversee Board administration, including recruitment and appraisals.
Act as a key contact for stakeholders such as elected representatives, regulators, and customers.
Oversee implementation of the Internal Audit programme and monitor completion of actions.
Contribute to the development and review of governance policies and strategies.
Attend sector conferences and forums to enhance governance practices.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a governance role, including minute-taking at Board/Committee meetings.
Strong knowledge of Scottish housing sector governance and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and perform well under pressure.
IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office and governance platforms.
Relevant degree or HND (desirable); CIH qualification (desirable).
Full driving licence and flexibility to attend evening meetings.
