Do you love Leith and north Edinburgh? If you’re someone who cares about community development and excellent service delivery, now is your chance to join the Board of Leith’s biggest social landlord.
This voluntary role is ideal for someone who has experience in Finance, Risk Management and/or Treasury and is willing to ask the questions that count. If this sounds like you, you could be the perfect fit for the Harbour Homes Board and Finance and Risk Committee.
About Harbour Homes:
We are Leith and north Edinburgh’s biggest social landlord. Our award-winning developments stretch from Granton to Portobello where we provide thousands of affordable homes. We’ve been contributing to the regeneration of local areas since 1975, and it’s our mission to ‘make a positive impact on people’s lives from our home in Leith by providing affordable homes and services and helping to support resilient communities.’
Harbour Homes is part of Harbour which also includes its subsidiaries Harbour Lettings and Harbour Multi-Trades.
Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking for voluntary Board Members who are excited by our mission and willing to commit time and effort to help us achieve our objectives. You will be a strategic thinker with a background, skills or experience in Finance, Risk Management and/or Treasury.
In addition, you will also have skills, experience or an interest in one or more of the areas below. No formal qualifications are required.
• Community development
• Local economic development
• Public health and wellbeing
• Property/architecture
• Sustainability
• Digital
• Human resources
• Legal
Time commitment:
We value the time of every Board Member and ask that those applying can commit to the required number of meetings each year. We have six formal Board meetings (three in person, three hybrid), three Finance and Risk Committee meetings (two hybrid, one in person), two in person Board away days, and the AGM.
