About the Role

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, committed and experienced individual to join our staff team as our Operations Manager (OM).

You will be an effective communicator and a visible ambassador for Cernach, who can lead teams with confidence and deliver results in line with our ambitious strategic goals.

You will report to the Director and be part of Cernach’s senior management team. The OM will lead the Senior Maintenance Officer and Senior Housing Officer who have day-to-day responsibility for our highly successful Maintenance and Housing Management teams. The role requires strong interpersonal, ICT, project management and performance management skills.

The successful candidate will have

• a working knowledge of the key operational functions within the housing sector, including resident safety, compliance, welfare reform and asset management.
• excellent leadership skills, with the ability to use a risk-based approach to prioritise workloads of busy teams
• the ability to problem-solve and ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences, including public speaking skills
• a detailed knowledge of the legal, regulatory and best practice requirements of the sector

Applicants should note that, due to the nature of this post, some evening Committee meetings and occasional weekend work will be required.

Cernach Housing Association is a successful and well performing community-based registered social landlord (RSL) operating in Drumchapel, northwest Glasgow since 1991. We own 877 homes and provide a management service to 16 sharing owners and 141 homeowners. We act as community anchor organisation for Drumchapel. Our turnover is £4.6 million, a major part of which comes from rental income. We are passionate about our role as a community-based organisation and have a strong and committed voluntary Management Committee who lead that passion.
