The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has joined SFHA as a Sector Associate.
ACCA is the global professional body for professional accountants, training and supporting 250,000 members working in all sectors and industries, in 180 countries.
Since 1904, being a force for public good has been embedded in ACCA's purpose. It upholds the highest ethical and professional standards through our mission to offer everyone everywhere the opportunity to experience a rewarding career in accountancy, finance, and management.
Its research, qualifications and learning opportunities develop strategic business leaders, forward-thinking professionals with the financial, business, and digital expertise essential for the creation of sustainable organisations and flourishing societies.
In Scotland, it works with employers large and small, helping them access and grow the finance talent they need to succeed. It works with partners like Skills Development Scotland to champion apprenticeships and multiple pathways into the finance profession, while ensuring it uses the feedback it recieves from its partner employers to keep ahead of skills challenges.
With a sizeable corporate footprint in Scotland, ACCA supports the professional development of a thriving community of 10,000 members and students. Crucially, it provides a collective voice for finance professionals to share their professional insight and expertise to inform its work in Scotland, the UK and globally. ACCA's insight work in Scotland has recently included a session for third sector members with charity regulator OSCR, a public sector-led productivity discussion, and exploring how the finance function can help organisations become more climate resilient. It uses this insight to inform its discussions with policymakers, including the Scottish Government, and to craft technical guidance and practical tools to support finance functions around the world.
ACCA’s Business Development Lead for the Public and Not-For-Profit sectors in Scotland, Sandy Aitken said: “With many ACCA members across the housing association sector in Scotland and clear alignment on our values, we’ve been delighted to deepen existing relationships with SFHA member-firms in recent months and are excited to open up new connections. We’ll be exhibiting at the SFHA Finance Conference, and I look forward to hearing more from industry experts while in Crieff.”
