AquaShield Solutions Ltd has joined SFHA as an associate member.

AquaShield Solutions is a provider of weatherproofing services throughout Scotland. The Aberdeenshire based company has grown significantly in its first year of trading but expects even more success in 2025 and beyond.

AquaShield owner, Tony McConnell, sees a bright future ahead as the requirement for weatherproofing becomes more evident with the increase in inclement weather.

“The climate conditions we have seen recently, is making water ingress into properties a real problem for owners and renters alike. When water permeates through the outer layers, the building will eventually feel the effects as will the occupants, by means of damp and mould that can really affect the health and wellbeing of the people living in that property”.

AquaShield has seen a big increase in enquiries in recent months as the effects of water ingress become more evident as the winter months draw closer.

Tony adds: “Our treatment works on almost any surface so a huge percentage of Scotland’s housing stock could be protected. As long as the weather is dry, and the temperature is above 4° then we can carry out the work. Incredibly, the material will be dry and active withing 4 hours leaving no trace as it is completely clear. So, not only is the treatment 100% waterproof but it’s also 100% breathable meaning buildings can still receive air circulation. It’s quite simple, water molecules are too big to permeate into walls, but air molecules can. Think of it as that well known waterproof material that winter jackets are made from, but for your home, and that will give you a better idea of how it works”.

AquaShield currently offers its spray protection system for almost any building including:

· Granite

· Sandstone

· Brick

· Facing stone

· Lime mortar and even buildings that are rendered.

“We are proud to be accepted as members of the SFHA”, adds Tony. “We aim to help as many people as possible and, hopefully we will be able to do that with the vast network of social housing bodies connected to the association”.
