Ayrshire Housing Association has lodged a planning application for 22 houses at Queen’s Terrace on the edge of Maybole.

The scheme has been designed by Do-Architecture to reflect the ambitions of the association’s new Design Guide for energy efficient and flexible housing. There will 18 two and three-bedroom houses, and four one-bedroom flats. Each flat includes an additional small room which can be used either as a home office or a child’s bedroom.

The other members of the design team are McColm Civil and Structural Engineers and Thomson Cost Consultants.

Jim Whiston, Ayrshire Housing Association Director, said: "The association’s first new build project was in Maybole over 25 years ago, and the town has always been a focus for our work.

"Hopefully, this latest development will be as well received as the nearby Burns Wynd one which received a Saltire Housing Design award in 2014.

"We are grateful for the continued support of South Ayrshire Council with whom we have liaised on the housing mix."
