This year’s Scottish Rural and Islands Housing Conference, taking place between 27–28 October, will explore the journey towards net zero for rural communities.  

This year's event will also see the return of RIHAF Development of the Year Award – but with a difference.  

The RIHAF Development of the 2020s Award is an opportunity for rural housing associations across Scotland to enter their best developments. It's easy to enter! First, create a PowerPoint with a maximum of five slides, including high-quality images of the development and some text. Ideally, we are looking for images on each slide with either bullet points or short text that highlights the main points of the development.

This should be emailed to kdevin@sfha.co.uk or mstephen@sfha.co.uk by Friday 14 October 2022. 

The RIHAF Development of the 2020s Award is an opportunity for rural housing associations across Scotland to enter their best developments. 

To enter, the development must:

  • have been completed onsite between March 2020 and March 2022 
  • be located in a rural location 
  • contain a significant proportion of affordable rented housing 

All entries will be displayed throughout the conference, and delegates will choose the winner, which will be announced on Friday 28 October.
