Since launching its five-year strategy in 2019, Eildon Housing has committed to delivering more new affordable homes across the Borders. The association has been working with their customers to hear first-hand what they value and what they want them to focus on.

The association has made progress, and construction work continues despite the difficulties of the last year and the delays that this has caused.

Their first Passivhaus development in Newtown St Boswells has been successful, with customers experiencing lower fuel bills in Eildon’s fight to eradicate fuel poverty.

Planning is also in for homes at the Former High School in Earlston, High Buckholm and St Aidan’s in Galashiels. All these homes are for social rent at affordable levels.

The association said: “This is fantastic news and means more families can benefit from high quality, warm, energy-efficient places to live.
