This Christmas, Fife Housing Group has made an additional £5,000 of donations to food banks serving communities in Levenmouth, Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline (which also covers Rosyth, Inverkeithing and Cowdenbeath), through its Giving Something Back programme.
Colleagues visited the Dunfermline food bank to meet with Project Manager Sandra Beveridge and present her with their donation. Its branch has been busier than ever this year, and the high demand for support will continue throughout the next few months.
Fife Housing Group Director of Housing Beverley Graham said: “As a result of the cost of living crisis, even more people in our communities, including our tenants, will need to access a food bank this year. It’s a horrible and very sad situation that we are faced with, so we want to make sure we can help as many people as we can through this difficult winter.”

The funding from the Giving Something Back programme is made possible thanks to the group’s contractors who have joined their charitable framework and pledged to donate 2% of their invoiced costs to benefit these worthy causes.
This year, the programme has also awarded £20,000 to 13 local groups and projects all over Fife. These included EATS Rosyth, Linton Lane Centre, Food For Your Future Community Pantry, Real Life Options and Valleyfield Community Hub.
The Giving Something Back grants programme will be running again next year, with applications open to any charitable organisation operating in Fife. More information regarding this will be available on Fife Housing Group’s website and social media channels in the coming months.
